About the team

The Models and Ratings team provide the Bank with analytical insight through the use of predictive models that support financial decision making across the business, from pricing through to risk.

 

Please note this position is based in our London office

What you will be doing?

As the Deposit Modelling and Analytics Lead, the key purpose of this role is to oversee the ongoing build, maintenance and execution of Deposit models and lead Deposit Customer and Account behavioural analysis. The role will also oversee the development and maintenance of customer behaviour prediction models and provide analysis on customer and account behaviour.

 

The role has overall responsibility of the Deposit modelling and analysis provided to the business by the Financial Modelling and Analysis Function.

 

Your responsibilities will include…

 

  • Developing and maintaining the models for prediction of customer behaviour to account functionality and pricing and undertaking analysis on customer and account behaviour
  • Leading the end-to-end lifecycle of deposit models, including pricing elasticity, customer churn/retention, balance forecasting, and behavioural models
  • Supporting the implementation of models and use of analytical outcomes into business use
  • Leading on the identification of data, toolkits, analytical approaches and modelling methods for Deposit Modelling and Analytics
  • Supporting deposit forecasting and scenario analysis to support ALCO, Treasury, and Finance in balance sheet and liquidity planning through analytical insight and predictive modelling
  • Providing strategic insights into deposit funding costs, market competitiveness, and customer behaviour to optimise product strategy through analytics and predictive modelling
  • Managing and developing a small team of analysts/modellers, embedding modern analytics tools and methods as well as line management responsibilities
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders (Treasury, Finance, Risk, Product) to present clear, actionable insights in key committees and working groups
  • Driving the embedding of models to enhance and bring efficiency to business processes and functions, such as the Savings Product Team
  • Overseeing regular model insight and assurance reports, including provision adequacy, application scorecard decision effectiveness, broader model monitoring and areas of focus as identified in Model or Credit Committees

Do you have the skills?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Previous experience:
    • In a Modelling and Analytics role within financial services;
    • Developing and implementing models to analyse deposit accounts and customer behaviour;
    • Providing insight and analysis to senior stakeholders;
    • Working with stakeholders and presenting at meetings/committees; and
    • Line managing direct reports

 

  • Strong knowledge of how to build, test and validate models and the associated statistical techniques is essential

 

  • A degree level qualification in a numerical discipline is essential
