About the team

We are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, focusing on stress testing capital and impairment forecasts, to join our small analytics team in central London.

 

This is a key role within portfolio credit risk reporting directly to the senior manager of the group’s credit risk stress testing activities.  

 

This is a data driven role where you will be expected to support the maintenance and enhancements of regular and ad-hoc stress testing activity (ICAAP, Recovery Plans, Risk Appetite etc.) and aid in the reporting of the group’s climate risk assessments.

What you will be doing?

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, undertake and lead the production and enhancement of regular and ad-hoc Credit Risk sensitivity analysis for the Risk function and the wider business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide regular input into the Stress Testing Framework and Strategy through making updates to Stress Testing model mechanics and parameters and undertaking regular and ad-hoc Stress Testing activity. Proactively identify enhancements and opportunities within the stress testing engine and surrounding process.
  • Undertake regular Going Concern analysis to assess the severity (and likelihood) of macro-economic downturns required for losses to have a significant detrimental impact to the group’s objective of meeting its regulatory capital requirements.
  • Support of Group Stress Testing alignment activity, including assisting in identifying opportunities to align approach and underlying assumptions.  Provide timely input into the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Going Concern regulator driven assessments.
  • Ownership of key analytical processes relating to the assessment of portfolio sensitivities to the impacts of climate change, monitoring portfolio concentrations to climate risk measures, assessing the portfolio against climate risk appetite, identification of improvements to data quality and provision of analytical support to the wider business on the roll out of green initiatives.
  • Provide input into the annual refresh of the Group’s Credit Risk Appetite measures. Utilise Stress Testing infrastructure to meet requirements.

Do you have the skills?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

 

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a Consumer Finance / Retail Banking Credit Risk function using standard mathematical and statistical techniques using SAS
  • Credit Risk experience relating to Capital and Impairment requirements (including IFRS9 principles) or Stress Testing is desirable
  • Specialist knowledge of Credit Risk fundamentals at all stages of the Credit Risk Lifecycle
  • Strong ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels is essential
