About the team

Join our team as a Senior Business Analyst – Data and be part of a supportive environment where your skills and expertise are valued, and your contributions make a difference. The role reports into the Data Product Owner and will work alongside other Senior Business Analysts to define desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable data solutions to support development across the product life cycle.  The role is key to work as an intermediary between the business stakeholders and the lab development teams, engineers and other domain services to maintain alignment with the Product Owner’s vision and goals and the prioritised backlog

This role can be based from Wolverhampton or Chatham with some travel to other offices.

What you will be doing?

As a Senior Business Analyst - Data, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyse data requirements underpinning our ambition for data-centricity and translate their needs into actionable requirements.  Using your previous experience of working in an Agile environment, your primary responsibility will be to translate these requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. You will analyse complex data, gather and refine requirements and collaborate with the agile teams to deliver innovative data-driven solutions.

 

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Ensuring a DOR (definition of ready) status for all functional and technical user stories
  • Identifying product improvement opportunities in line with business Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs), the Product Owner’s vision and roadmap
  • Facilitate workshops to capture and analyse business requirements, documenting potential solutions and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Refine user stories and break them down into smaller tasks, ensuring clarity and alignment with the overall vision.
  • Develop data models, data flows and other data related artefacts to visualise data relationship and process
  • Conduct business impact assessments, feasibility studies and research into systems, processes and products as required, making recommendations for the best options available
  • Assure solutions through techniques such as data modelling, data lineage, data dictionary, and information quality requirements.

Do you have the skills?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Strong track record of working as a senior business analyst OR Product Owner within an agile environment, specifically on data centric projects/programmes, including data migration
  • Significant technical understanding of a business intelligence landscape including the fintech operational systems, data repositories, data services, data migration, data management and cloud storage is essential
  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques, including working with large datasets and identifying trends
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders to define and document as-is and to-be journeys and business processes including facilitating workshops
  • Experience writing functional and technical user stories and related acceptance criteria in alignment with business objectives
  • Demonstrable experience working in an Agile transformation programme within Financial Services
