What you will be doing

As an L3 iSeries Support Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and resolving incidents related to our critical systems in a timely manner. This includes monitoring tickets and environments, deploying applications, and conducting daily system health checks. You will also mentor junior team members, work on process improvements and automation. With your strong troubleshooting skills and commitment to excellence, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability and efficiency of our systems.

 

Your responsibilities will include…

 

  • Receiving post implementation sign off from the business that delivery into production has been successful.
  • Monitoring the application on the IBM estate, BRMS, Replication,
  • DR Test Verification of systems as per the yearly DR policy.
  • Liaise with auditors for documentation and information requests.
  • Ensure all Change Requests (CRs) and Project deliverables are expected to be delivered in agreed timelines.
  • Exposure to IBMi work management.
  • User profile / Menu maintenance.
  • Maintain tape library schedules and ensure tapes are in correct slots via BRMS,
  • Backup maintenance including the encryption system maintenance.
  • Mentor and coach L2 and L3 Administrators to enhance knowledge.
  • Work on process improvements and automation of manual tasks.
  • Assist with more technical support issues and escalation from L2 team members.
  • Engaging with business and 3rd party suppliers to progress resolution of issues.
  • Release Management: Releasing application changes through the relevant environments with the necessary planning and due diligence having been completed to ensure production stability.
  • Managing and owning team’s deliverables in terms of quality, schedule by using right practices and adhering to company’s process and policies.

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

 

  • Previous experience as a 3rd line application support is essential.
  • Previous experience in supporting production iSeries environments.
  • Understanding of iSeries/AS400 is essential.
  • Previous skills in Incident triage skills in respect of application support is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with ITIL incident and problem management is essential.
  • Basic SQL skills are essential.
  • iSeries/IBM qualification is beneficial.
