About the team

We have a great opportunity to join our Risk and Quality Operations team which forms part of Group Mortgage Servicing.  This is a brand-new role that is responsible to test, develop and analyse the performance of key risk controls across Group Servicing, ensuring that controls are operating effectively. The team will work closely with key stake holders to develop & maintain controls across a multi-site, multi brand environment, whilst analysing data to identify emerging trends & risks.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the bank's operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and effective risk management combined with testing and control monitoring via the Risk Control Self-Assessment programme to ensure all risks within Group Mortgage Servicing are tightly controlled within risk appetite and that testing schedules are completed thoroughly and within defined timeframes.

 

This is a brand-new role providing you with the opportunity to reengineer processes and work collaboratively to mould the role into your own and make your mark!

 

Your responsibilities will include…

 

  • Proactively monitoring Group Servicing activities using RCSA testing and controls to identify potential operational risk incidents, such as process deviations, compliance breaches, or system failures and escalate findings to line manager.
  • Supporting the embedding of RCSA for Group Servicing, working closely with 1LoD and Operational teams to challenge, support, assess, monitor, and improve the control environment. 
  • Continually reviewing and suggesting uplifts to the RCSA controls based on evidence of MI from test cycles that have identified weaknesses.
  • Ensuring corrective action plans are in place with residual risk ratings, control assessment and testing to stay within the Bank’s Risk appetite.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into identified incidents, determining the root causes, contributing factors, and potential impacts.
  • Coordinating with relevant departments and stakeholders to gather information and assess the incident's severity.
  • Evaluating the potential risks associated with each incident and assess their impact on the bank's operations, reputation, and compliance.

In return for your commitment

We offer a base salary dependent on experience of between £26,000-£28,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

 

  • Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 12.5%
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Previous experience in the identification and evaluation of l risks, or risk control testing.
  • Previous experience in internal networks and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Detailed up to date knowledge of FCA requirements and Regulatory Framework relevant to role is desirable.
  • Advanced skills in terms of organisation and ability to prioritise workload are essential.
