We are looking for a Senior Financial Controls Manager to join our high performing, multi-site team. In this role you will drive month-end processes and operational excellence, whilst leading on process improvements and fostering growth within your team.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will lead the financial control team across multi-site locations to deliver reporting requirements including oversight of a robust controls framework, ongoing quality assessment of processes as well as driving process & system improvements and efficiencies.  

 

Your responsibilities will include…

 

  • Working with another Senior Financial Control Manager, deliver accurate and timely completion of the Group’s month end reporting process, meeting the Group’s WD 7 close deadlines.
  • Manage the Financial Control managers across sites, ensuring the Group complies with the target operating model. Identify and implement process and control efficiencies across the Group, leading by example in adopting a one team mentality with frequent cross location knowledge sharing, including OSBI.
  • Full ownership of the Group’s control and governance framework covering all locations of Financial Control including quarterly SOX Lite or RCSA requirements and ensuring processes remain compliant with the framework. Communicating effectively across a large range of stakeholders and locations to drive quality assessment and assurance over controls.
  • Assist the Group Head of Financial Control by driving forward Group integration activities, aligning processes & controls to the Group’s target operating model, adopting best practices across the Group as well as proactive involvement in process and control enhancements and efficiencies. Experience of driving forward change is essential.
  • Review of processes within Financial Control in particular month end reporting with a focus on a consistent approach,process efficiencies and system developments needed. Partnering with all locations including India teams to coordinate effective delivery of robust processes supporting the month end process.
  • Review of accounting to ensure compliant with standards, as well as working across the Finance Department (such as with the Financial Planning team and the Head of Accounting policy) to ensure accounting approach is consistent, documented and fully rolled out to the Financial Control team. Escalation of accounting discrepancies or issues that arise and assist in their resolution. 
  • Assistance with month end reporting activities including review and approval of the Group’s more technical accounting journals as well as focus on balance sheet substantiation within Blackline providing guidance & independent review.

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below: 

  • Extensive experience managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrating effective communication and leadership across multi-sites is essential
  • Previous experience working in a similar environment in a Senior Finance role with focus on quality and control is essential
  • Previous experience with leading teams in process improvement projects and driving change is essential
  • Previous experience of working in a financial services or FTSE listed Group is essential
  • Experience directing a team across multiple locations including an overseas team is essential
  • Up to date knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS is essential, with detailed knowledge of IFRS 2 and 9 an advantage   
  • Specialist knowledge of financial control processes is essential
  • Specialist knowledge of accounting systems is essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley control principles is essential
