About the team

We have a great opportunity to join our IT team as an Infrastructure Operations Manager, leading a team of Support Analysts and Engineers accountable for delivering and monitoring, event management, project and BAU support across OSB Group’s sites. As a liaison point for Service and Delivery, your team will be responsible for overseeing support for the business during and outside of business hours to ensure infrastructure maintenance is planned and executed in line with agreed timescale, service provision and restoration.

This role can be based from our Wolverhampton or Chatham offices and will require some travel

What you will be doing

As Infrastructure Operations Manager, you will manage and coordinate the team resource between BAU and project deliverables and be responsible for Incident and Problem Management. With your previous experience you will be comfortable as the escalation point support for service issues to ensure the correct technical teams are involved during major out of hour’s emergencies and collaborate with third-parties and across OSB Group to manage expectations.

 

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Day to day operation of VMware, Storage, Windows and Citrix technologies, providing guidance and supervision
  • Maintain, monitor and manage demand, maintenance routines and contracts
  • Capacity manage assets across estate utilising monitoring platform
  • Communicate with suppliers and service providers on behalf of the company
  • As technical stakeholder collaborate with users and vendors on priority incidents delivering service changing enhancements and improvements. 
  • Deal with live system issues/incidents, maintaining visibility, tracking live issues and working closely with key internal OSB Group stakeholders.
  • Work in conjunction with IT Risk and Operational Risk to report incidents and lower our risk exposure

In return for your commitment

We offer a base salary from £68,000 dependent on experience and location and a competitive benefits package including:

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Strong previous experience working with project and delivery functions and building technical teams
  • Experience of support escalation and resource prioritisation
  • Experience and knowledge working across in Windows, VMware, Azure/365, Citrix and associated technologies
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of data centre connectivity
  • Strong track record of leading, coaching and developing a team on complex, technical, multi-site and multi-disciplinary problems
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and clearly communicate requirements
