About the team

The Compliance Assurance team supports OSB Group plc by completing targeted Thematic Reviews and Customer Journeys to achieve the agreed Compliance Assurance Annual Plan and ensuring that the business operates within the law and regulations that applies to the Group.

This role is key to ensuring that the Compliance Assurance Plan is delivered. The team is based in Chatham, Kent and Wolverhampton, West Midlands.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will deliver risk-based assurance activity across the Group in accordance with the Group Annual Compliance Assurance Plan; focussing on the planning, execution and reporting of assurance of thematic reviews and customer journeys, to test adherence to regulatory requirements, the design and effectiveness of key regulatory systems and controls and the delivery of good customer outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Timely completion of Compliance Assurance reviews across the Group to provide assurance that we are operating within our policies and procedures and within law and regulation. This will include Customer Journeys and Thematic Reviews. 
  • Identifying and scoping the impact of Compliance and Conduct breaches and communicating the implications to a range of audiences. Agreeing actions with stakeholders needed to close issues noted in the reviews and supporting the business in completing the agreed actions.
  • Ensuring that you own, deliver and comply with operating objectives and standards of performance.
  • Providing concise, timely and accurate written and verbal reports highlighting issues and recommendations for improvement/remediation actions. Reporting any potential compliance breaches highlighted or conduct issues, and ensuring they are actioned in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Undertaking and reporting focussed customer outcome reviews across the full product. This will involve using experience and conduct expertise to assess customer outcomes and making recommendations to the business for improvements.

In return for your commitment

We offer a base salary dependent on experience and location starting from £43,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

  • Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 15%

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Previous experience completing compliance or conduct thematic reviews/audits as part of a compliance team is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of and ability to interpret the FCA regulations and other critical regulatory areas is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of both the current FCA regulatory expectations in respect to conduct risk, Consumer Duty and customer outcomes together with the latest industry guidance for those expectations is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the MCOB, BCOBS, SYSC, PRIN and COCON handbooks is essential.
