About the team

The Senior Group Operations Assurance Development Manager leads a specialist team of 3 direct reports who provide independent assurance across the Operational 1LoD through RCSA, assurance monitoring and control testing.

 

This role has the flexibility to be based from our Wolverhampton or Chatham offices with occasional travel required and is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

What you will be doing

As Senior Group Operations Assurance Development Manager you will support the strategic design, development and embedding of risk, control and assurance across Ops 1LoD with a focus on ensuring the control oversight and monitoring meets regulatory requirements. You will have a key area of focus of continuing to embed RCSA for Group Operations, working closely with Ops Risk (2LoD) and Operational areas to provide challenge, support, and influence to assess, monitor and improve the control environment 

 

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Design, develop and embed an effective RCSA independent assurance testing programme including reporting, management information and control enhancements
  • Ensure effective issue management / corrective action plans are in place with residual risk ratings, control assessment and testing falls outside of the Bank’s Risk appetite
  • Conduct lesson learnt on Risk Events, Compliance, IA and External findings across Group Operations to continually improve the Ops 1st line control environment
  • Provide guidance, advice and recommendations to Operational Management on the control environment whilst ensuring that an effective risk management operating rhythm is in place
  • Lead on the development of Operational quality assurance, control testing and outcomes based testing within the Bank’s Modernisation Programme
  • Preparing and presenting required decision papers around emerging and realised risks and issues and progress to closure

In return for your commitment

We offer a salary of c£60,000 dependent on experience and location in addition to a competitive benefits package:

  • Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 15%

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Previous work experience in Financial Services with specialist knowledge and understanding of understanding of the regulatory rules and principles: BCoBs, MCoBs, DISP, Consumer Duty
  • Experience of designing, developing and embedding RCSA assurance testing programmes
  • Advanced knowledge risk and internal control principles and frameworks such as COSO
  • Strong track record of working in quality assurance including customer outcomes testing / design
  • Experience of working collaboratively with operational management teams
  • Understanding of vendor management and 3rd party risk
  • Demonstrable experience of line management and coaching
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability communicate complex information to a wide audience
